Vega Solar Project

Clean, Rewable Energy for the State

The Vega Solar Project is a solar photovoltaic power-generating facility that generates approximately 20 megawatts alternating current of clean, renewable electrical power on 178.3 acres in southwestern Merced County.  The electricity produced by the project is marketed to major California electric utilities, such as Pacific Gas & Electric. This project will help the State meet its goals under AB 32, the California Global Warming Solutions Act, which caps California’s greenhouse gas emissions at 1990 levels by 2020 and have HK fill-in 2030, 2050 goals.

Tina Thomas assisted the applicant during the administrative process, leading to approval of the project and certification of the Environmental Impact Report.
